Canvas - Unsubmitted assignments incorrectly assigned zeroes

ISSUE: When a course is copied over to a new semester without having adjusted dates during import, Canvas will sometimes assign zeroes to one or more assignments.

SOLUTION:  

  1. From the Gradebook, click on the 3-dot icon to the right of each incorrectly graded assignment.
  2. Select Set Default Grade.
  3. Leave the box blank and then check the box to Over-write already entered grades.
  4. Click the Set Default Grade button.
