Zoom - Sharing & Downloading Recordings
***IMPORTANT***
Zoom videos are set to automatically delete 180 days after creation. If you want to keep your Zoom recordings longer than 180 days, you will need to download the recording by clicking on the Download link to the left of the Share link. This will download a MP4 copy of the video that you can then upload to your My Media and embed into a Canvas course.
*** Note that if the download option does not appear for you in Canvas, you can download your Zoom recordings through the Zoom website. You will login to Zoom with your Parkside credentials.
All of the recordings you create and save to the Cloud will be available in Zoom through Canvas.
To access recordings through Canvas, you'll navigate to a Canvas course and click on the Zoom link on the course navigation bar.
After you've clicked on the Zoom link, you will click on the "All my Zoom Meetings/Recording" link in the Zoom window.
Then you'll click on the Cloud Recordings tab.
After you've found your recordings either through Canvas, you can click on the appropriate recording title. This will open the recording, where you can choose to download the file or copy the link to the recording to share with your students, colleagues, etc. To get the shareable URL, click on the Share link underneath the recording.
Note that there will be both the full recording file, and a file with only audio. If you want to share the full video and not just the audio, make sure you click on the Share button underneath the video title "Recording" and not "Audio Only".
A window will pop up with the shareable URL that you can copy and send to anyone who needs to view the video (you can paste the link in a Canvas course, in an email, etc.)
Remember that Zoom recordings are set to delete 180 days after creation, so be sure to download any recordings you want to keep and upload them to your My Media.
