Due to the increase of social engineering attacks on accounts, We are adjusting our procedure for assisting with Password and MFA (Okta) resets for campus.
The new process will be implemented on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Password reset with Okta device enrolled
- Users that have an Okta device enrolled and only need a password reset, will be asked to verify Identity via DOB and last 4 of SSN or address. This will ensure we are working with the correct account.
- We will then use the Okta workflow to send a push notification to an already enrolled device for the account.
- Once the user approves the push, CTS will then reset password.
- If the user does not have a device that will allow push notifications, we will require a video call ID verification.
Password and MFA (Okta) reset
- If the user needs both a Password and Okta reset, CTS will verify identity per protocol,
- A Zoom invite will be sent to the user so that they can present a photo id, (state, or passport) confirming identity.
- Once Identity is verified, we can continue with the reset process.
