How to Install Windows 11 on University Devices

How to upgrade University Assets to Windows 11 after 8/28/26
Before You Begin
  • Save and close any open work before starting the installation.
  • Ensure your laptop is connected to power during the upgrade process.
  • The upgrade will require a restart to complete.
Beginning 8/24/26, users will receive a Software Center notification indicating that new software is available, similar to the example below:

How to Install Windows 11
  1. Click the Software Center notification when it appears.
  2. Open Software Center and select Operating Systems.
  3. Choose Win 11 24H2 Update Only from the list.

  1. Click Install to begin the upgrade.
