Enabling Classroom Webcams for Non-YuJa Livestream Applications

Classroom webcams can be used for other web conferencing programs beyond just YuJa livestreams, but users will need to turn on one setting before the webcam is recognized by the computer. This page shows where that setting is.
Once the webcam is enabled, this setting will remain on for that user on that classroom's computer. Other users will also need to enable it if they log on to that same computer, and users who have already done it for one classroom will need to do it again in any other classrooms they wish to use.

This will make the webcam compatible with programs such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and the YuJa desktop recorder. Kaltura Capture is not supported as it cannot recognize the wireless input devices. This process is not necessary for scheduled YuJa livestreams & recordings.

1. Turn on the podium PC and log in.

2. Go to the bottom-right of the desktop and click Show Hidden Icons (the large ^ caret on the explorer bar).

3. Right-click the NDI Virtual Input icon and hover over the classroom name at the top of the menu.

4. Click the classroom name to enable the webcam as a usable webcam on that computer.

The classroom webcam system should now appear as an option when you go to start a web conferencing tool like Zoom or WebEx when you are setting up your livestream.
