Password Reset - for Forgotten or Expired Passwords
Need a password reset? Password expired? This article summarizes how to reset your password using password self service
Note that if you forget your password, you can use the “Forgotten Password” option to set a new password. However, to do so you must first configure your “forgotten password” responses. If you have not yet completed this step and forget your password, please contact the help desk at 262.595.2444 for assistance.
Navigating to password self service
First, navigate to: Password Self Service (https://password.uwp.edu)
Click the dropdown box labeled Current and Returning Students and Staff as shown below:
You will then be brought to the following sign in page as shown below:
Proceed to one of the next sections for further instructions
From here, select an applicable section and click/tap it to open it.
Configure Forgotten Password Responses (Security Questions)
Notice: As of the writing of this article, the security question software does not function on mobile devices.
Sign in at the password self service login page, and then you will be prompted with the below menu:
Click on Setup Password Responses. Finally, select questions and fill in the fields with an appropriate answer to each question. Be sure to keep these answers secret as these can be used to regain access to your account.
Once you have entered your responses, click Save Responses, then you may proceed to another step or log out.
Password Reset (KNOWN PASSWORD)
Sign in at the password self service login page, and then you will be prompted with the below menu:
On the following page, type your desired new password, and then type it in again to confirm it as shown below:
Finally, click change password, and wait for the password changing process to complete. Note: do not exit this page until you receive a message stating that your password has successfully changed. Otherwise, the password reset will not go through and you must repeat this process.
Once your new password is set, then you may proceed to another step or log out.
Password Reset (UNKNOWN PASSWORD)
On the sign in page, click forgotten password as shown below:
You will then be prompted for an email and a last name as shown below. Be sure to enter in your parkside email address, personal email addresses do not work here.
Once you enter this information, 2 of your security questions will appear as shown:
Once you enter your security questions, if correct, you will then be prompted to change your password.
On the following page, type your desired new password, and then type it in again to confirm it as shown below:
Finally, click change password, and wait for the password changing process to complete. Note: do not exit this page until you receive a message stating that your password has successfully changed. Otherwise, the password reset will not go through and you must repeat this process.

Password Expired
If your password is expired, simply sign in with your expired password and username (everything before the @ symbol), and you will be prompted to set a new password as shown below:
Enter in your new password, and type it in again to confirm it.
Finally, click change password, and wait for the password changing process to complete. Note: do not exit this page until you receive a message stating that your password has successfully changed. Otherwise, the password reset will not go through and you must repeat this process.
Once your new password is set, then you may proceed to another step or log out.
