D2L - Email / Not Authorized Error

How to fix D2L unable to send email / not authorized error.

A "Not Authorized" error will occur when attempting to send email from within D2L if one or more quiz attempts remain in progress (quiz not submitted).

In D2L, a "Not Authorized" error will occur if the user has one or more in progress Quiz attempts.


To resolve D2L Email  / Not Authorized Error: 
  • Click on the Message alerts or Updates alerts icon on your minibar. 

  • D2L Minibar, Messages and Update alert icons

  • The "You must complete the following quizzes for alerts to be enabled" dialog will appear.
    Click into each "in progress" quiz to finish and submit.

    To fix unable to send email error,  user must complete all "in progress" quiz attempts.
