Navigate - Faculty/Staff - How to manually assign/unassign students in Navigate

Navigate instructions for faculty/staff


Authorized personnel can manually assign/unassign students to specific staff members in Navigate.

Examples of students who are manually assigned/unassigned in Navigate: 

  • First year students and incoming transfer students are manually assigned to success coaches.
  • Students who live on-campus are manually assigned to Residence Life Coordinators.
  • Students in designated programs are manually assigned to peer mentors.
  • Callahan Scholars, Fund For Wisconsin Scholars (FFWS), Ascension Scholars, Froedtert Scholars, and additional targeted students are also manually assigned to specific staff members.

Please note: Advisors are assigned and unassigned in SOLAR; in 24 to 72 hours the advisor information auto-populates into Navigate.

Read these instructions to learn how to manually assign students in Navigate

  1. After logging into Navigate - Faculty/Staff, click the Administration (Gear) Icon

  2. Click Mass Edit of Students

  3. Click Switch To Advanced Search

  4. Click Student Information

  5. Type/Paste Student ID numbers

  6. Click Search

  7. Select student(s)

  8. Click Assign to Someone

  9. To Assign or Unassign

    To ASSIGN students
    Select
    Add to…
    Next, in the Relationships section, select a role
    Next, in the Staff section, select a specific staff name
    Then, click Save this Setting
    A notification will also appear indicating that the students were assigned successfully 

To UNASSIGN students
Select
Remove from…
Next, in the Relationships section, select a role
Next, in the Staff section, select a specific staff name
Then, click Save this Setting
A notification will also appear indicating that the students were unassigned successfully

Click Add To


To UNASSIGN students:

Select Remove from…

Next, in the Relationships section, select a role

Next, in the Staff section, select a specific staff name

Then, click Save this Setting

A notification will also appear indicating that the students were unassigned successfully 

Click Remove From
