Zoom - Mute Your Microphone by Default When Joining a Meeting

This document will walk through the process of turning on the "Mute microphone when joining a meeting" setting in Zoom.

Step 1: Open the Zoom desktop app. (If you need to install the Zoom desktop app, you can do so by going to the Zoom website.)

Step 2: Click on your profile icon on the top right of the Zoom window.

Step 3: Select Settings from the menu.

Step 4: Click on the Audio tab on the left hand navigation bar.

Step 5: Scroll down until you see the "Mute my mic when joining" setting. Click the checkbox to the left of the setting to enable. The checkbox will be blue and have a check mark when "Mute my mic when joining" is enabled.
