SOLAR - How to update your contact information [Complete Guide]
A step-by-step guide on how to update your contact information in SOLAR.

Add/Edit Email Addresses
- Login to SOLAR
- Click on the Profile tile located on the Student Homepage.
- From the menu on the left, select Contact Details.
- To add an email address, click on the + sign under Email.
To edit an email address, click on the > sign. - Select an address type, enter the email address and click Save.
Email address types:
- Campus: All official university communications will be sent to this email address. It will always be set as the preferred email for current students, and it cannot be changed or deleted.
- Business: This email address is used for employees, volunteers and other individuals with official university business. Official communications will be sent to this email address. It will always be set as the preferred email for current employees, and it cannot be changed or deleted.
- Home: You can set the Home email address to anything you'd like.
Add/Edit Phone Numbers
- Login to SOLAR
- Click on the Profile tile located on the Student Homepage.
- From the menu on the left, select Contact Details.
- To add a phone number, click on the + sign under Phone.
To edit a phone number, click on the > sign. - Select a phone type, enter your information and click Save.
Add/Edit Addresses
- Login to SOLAR
- Click on the Profile tile located on the Student Homepage.
- From the menu on the left, select Addresses.
- To add an address, select an address type and click on the + sign under the relevant type.
To edit an address in a category where an address already exists, click on the > sign under the relevant type (if option is available).
If this type of address has never been added, click the Add button under the relevant type. - Enter information in all relevant boxes and click Save.
Note: When entering a new address, the 'From' field must be populated with today's date (f you are currently living at that address, even if you have lived at this address before today) or a future date (if the address you're entering will be where you live in an upcoming term).
Add/Edit Emergency Contacts
- Login to SOLAR.
- Click on the Profile tile located on the Student Homepage.
- From the left column navigation, select Emergency Contacts.
- If there are no contacts listed, click on the Add Contact button.
- To add an additional contact, click on the + sign.
To edit an existing contact, click on the > sign. - Enter or edit the contact information then click Save.
