Classroom Live Stream/Recording Set-up Options
This article describes several different ways in which a live stream can be set up, as it relates to instructor preference and student access.
Live Stream/Recording - Full Access
Option 1: Class session(s) Live Streamed > Live Stream Recording(s) automatically posted to associated course in Canvas.
- Instructor submits a live stream request form for an individual class session or for reoccurring class sessions through end of semester
- Instructor would like students to have access to both the synchronous live stream as well as the associated recording(s).
- Live stream recordings are automatically published to associated course in Canvas
Live Stream Access Only
Option 2: Class session(s) Live Streamed > Live Stream Recording(s) kept private, allowing instructor to share with student(s) as needed.
- Instructor submits a live stream request form for an individual class session or for reoccurring class sessions through end of semester
- Instructor would like students to have access to the synchronous live stream, however they do not want the students to have access to the associated recording(s).
- Instructor to distribute recording link(s) as needed.
Access Restricted
Option 3: Class session(s) Live Streamed > Live Stream and Recording(s) kept private, allowing instructor to share with student(s) as needed.
- Instructor submits a live stream request form for an individual class session or for reoccurring class sessions through end of semester
- Instructor would like to keep live streams and recordings private.
- Instructor to distribute live stream and/or recording link(s) as needed.
