TechBar - How to set Outlook desktop to always online mode

This article details how to setup Outlook Desktop to always be online

Items stuck in outbox? Emails not downloading? Follow the below guide to set your Outlook to always be online:


First, on the ribbon at the top of the screen, click 'File' as shown below:

Click account settings > account settings.

This will bring up a new window. Double click on the mailbox you wish to set to always online.

Ensure 'Use Cached Exchange Mode' is unchecked

Email Server settings

Finally, restart outlook and the changes will be applied. You will notice on the status bar that the message has changed to 'Online with Microsoft Exchange'

From here, Outlook should be set to always online. Please note that you will need to repeat this process on any different computers you are signed in to.
