1. What is my initial password?
- New Students and New Staff if you are a new student, please refer to your "Next Steps" welcome letter for your Parkside Username and Activation Pin.
- If you are a new staff, please refer to your Solar letter for your Username and Activation Pin.
- You will use the activation pin to create your initial password.
- Initial Password Activation PIN (1234) + Birth year (92) + Birth Month (12) Your initial Password is: 12349212
2. How do I activate my account?

3. How do I reset my password?
Important - If you forget your password, you can use the “Forgotten Password” option to set a new password. However, to do so you must first configure your “forgotten password” responses. If you have not yet completed this step and forget your password, please contact the help desk at 262.595.2444 for assistance.
To configure your “forgotten password” responses:
- Go to: password.uwp.edu
- Click the “Password Self Service” button
- Enter your username and password
- Follow the instructions to set your forgotten password responses. These secret questions will allow you to recover your password if you forget it.
- Logout
-If you know your password and would like to reset it:
- Go to: password.uwp.edu
- Click the “Password Self Service” button
- Enter your username and password
- If you haven’t already done so, you will be prompted to setup your forgotten password responses.
- Select “Change Password”
- Set your new password and click the “Change Password” button
- Logout
-If you forget your password:
- Go to: password.uwp.edu
- Click the “Password Self Service” button
- Select “Forgotten Password”
- Enter your UW-P email address and your last name
- Click the “Search” button
- Enter the required responses to your secret questions
- Click the “Check Responses” button
- Set your new password and click the “Change Password” button
- Logout
4. Where can I find answers myself?

5. How do I get Office 365 on my machine?
- Go to logins at the top right of the UW-Parkside homepage.
- Select Student Login under RangerMail.
- Enter you credentials and login. At the top left you’ll see Office 365.
- Click on Office 365
- You’ll have the option to install Office onto your personal or work computer.
- Select Install Now.
- Office 365 will begin downloading.
- Launch the download once it has been completed. Double click on the Office Installer folder to begin the installation process.
- Follow the prompts on the screen. Once you select Install, Microsoft Office will begin installing immediately.
6. How do I get campus email on my phone or mobile device?
- Install outlook from the app store or use the devices default mail program on the smart device.
- Select add email account.
- Select Microsoft Exchange.
- Select show advanced configuration.
- Email is the student or user’s id, schoolid@rangers.uwp.edu – example: student001@rangers.uwp.edu.
- Add m.outlook.com as the server.
- Username is the student id, ex. student001
- Password is the same one associated with student's account.
- Click next, then finish.
7. How do I get wireless “eduroam” on my phone or laptop?
-iOS:
- An iOS device must authenticate through UWP-Wireless before you can connect to eduroam.
- Go to Settings > Wi Fi > Choose a Network
- Select UWP-Wireless
- Enter your UWP Username and Password > Click I Agree
- Go back to settings > Wi Fi > Choose a Network
- Select eduroam
- Enter your UWP username and password
- Accept the Client Authentication Certificate
-Android:
- Tap the Home button on your device to return to your device's home screen.
- Tap the Menu button.
- Select Settings from the menu.
- Select Wireless & networks.
- Select Wi-Fi settings.
- Select eduroam from the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
- Select or enter in the following options:
- Faculty or Staff Identity: username@ad.uwp.edu
- Student Identity: username@ad.uwp.edu
- Password: Your UWP Logon ID password
- Tap the Connect Button.
-Windows 8.1:
- At the Start screen type 'Control Panel' and select the search result.
- Select the 'View network status and task' link under the 'Network and Internet' category.
- Select 'Set up a new connection or network'.
- Select 'Manually connect to a wireless network'.
- Type in the following information
- Network Name: eduroam (must be all lower case)
- Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Encryption type: AES
- Select 'Change connection settings'.
- Select the Security tab. Choose a network authentication method: 'Protected EAP (PEAP)'. Next click the 'Settings' button.
- On the Protected EAP Properties window make sure the 'Verify the server's identity by validating the certificate' box is unchecked.
- Click 'configure' which is next to the 'Select Authentication Method' box and ensure that 'Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) is unchecked.
- At the eduroam Wireless Network Properties (security tab), select 'Advanced Settings'.
- Under '802.1X Settings' select 'Specify authentication mode:' In the box, select 'User authentication'.
- Click on '802.11 settings' and under 'Fast roaming' uncheck the box for 'Enable Pairwise Mater Key (PMK) caching'.
- Click OK and Close to exit out of all the properties and security windows.
- Locate 'eduroam' in the network list.
- Click connect. The user name will be as follows: 'username@ad.uwp.edu' and the password is the one for the school account.
8. Where do I find my DARS?
- Go to uwp.edu
- Click Logins on the upper navigation bar.
- Scroll until you see Solar and click on it.
- Login
- Scroll to the bottom of the Solar homepage.
- DARS – Degree Audit Report will show up on the top left under Parkside Self Service.
- Click on it.
- Input your Parkside credentials.
- Click connect.
- Click on Submit a New Audit.
- You may need to refresh the list a couple times before the new audit appears.
- Click on Open Audit when it does appear.
9. How do I order my transcripts? Official and Unofficial
- Log into your solar account.
- Upon logging in, scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see two option provided: Order Official Transcript and View Unofficial Transcript.
- You can either click on one of the options to access your official transcript or unofficial transcripts. If you would like to access the unofficial transcripts click on “view unofficial transcript.
- If you would like to order official transcripts, click on “order official transcripts”.
- Click on “Start my order” as shown above and you are set to go.
10. How do I find my class in D2L?
- Login to D2L
- Your classes will be listed on the right hand side of the screen.
- Not all of your classes will be listed, only the classes that use D2L.
- Click on the desired class to go to the class’s homepage.
11. How do I log in to D2L?
- Go to uwp.edu
- Click on Logins on the upper navigation bar.
- Scroll until you find D2L.
- Click on D2L.
- Use your Parkside credentials to login.
12. Where do I get software from?
- Go to uwp.edu
- Click on Logins on the upper navigation bar.
- Scroll until you see UWP KnowledgeBase.
- Click on it.
- On the left hand side of the screen you should see WISC Software Catalog.
- Click on it.
- Input Parkside under UW System Students or Faculty/Staff
- Follow instructions given from there!
13. How much does printing cost?
- Color: $0.25 a page
- Black and White: $0.06 a page
14. How do I put money on my Ranger Card?
- To put money on your Ranger Card you can use the Kiosk by the library entrance to add cash.
- If you need to add money to your card using a debit card, go to uwp.edu
- Click on Logins
- Scroll until you see Online Card Office
- Use your Parkside credentials to login.
- On the left hand side under Campus Cash click on +Add Money
- Enter your debit card information and continue the process.
