An influx of scam text messages have been circulating within our campus community.

It has come to our attention that some individuals have received fraudulent text messages falsely claiming to be from peers or colleagues at UW-Parkside. These messages may ask for personal information or prompt you to click on suspicious links. Please be advised that these texts are not legitimate and are part of a phishing attempt.

If you receive such a message, please do not respond or click on any links provided.

To safeguard your personal information and prevent falling victim to scams:

  • Do not provide personal information over text messages, especially if the request seems unusual or unexpected. •
  • Verify the identity of the sender by contacting them through official channels (such as email or phone) if you have doubts about the authenticity of a message. •
  • Report any suspicious messages to the CTS Tech Bar at servicedesk@uwp.edu.
