New Student Course Evaluation System Launching Spring 2023!

Beginning in Spring 2023, UW-Parkside will transition to a new student course evaluation system called Explorance Blue.
The decision to move to the new system was based on user feedback, lack of accessibility, and low student response rates related to the former SOLAR based course evaluation system.
The overarching goal of implementing Explorance Blue is to streamline the evaluation process, make information from the evaluations more transparent and ease the current time intensive process for students, staff, and instructors. With the new system, instructors should expect several new features that will make course evaluations easier and much more accessible, including real-time response rate monitoring, access to reports, and Canvas integration.

- Easy access- mobile friendly and embedded in Canvas
- Ease of use- user-friendly interface for students and instructors
- Canvas integration- student submit evaluations and instructors access response rates and final reports through Canvas
- More accuracy in enrollment- student course evaluations are tied directly to course enrollment through Canvas/Solar
- Robust reporting platform- instructors can access all of their Explorance Blue reports from the same dashboard and reports will be automatically generated at the departmental and university level
- New opportunities to improve response rates- a real-time dashboard for student response rates allows instructors to track completion while maintaining student response anonymity
- Streamlined workflow- dramatic reduction in need for manual entry of questions, report creation, and general management of the evaluation process
What Do Instructors Need to Do?
Beginning with Spring semester 2022/23, all UW-Parkside courses will have a course navigation link titled "UWP Course Evaluation". If you click on the link before the evaluation period, you will see the following:
Please DO NOT hide the UWP Course Evaluation link from your navigation menu. Leaving it visible will help your students find it when it is time for them to complete their evaluations. More information about how to access the response rate dashboard will be forthcoming as the course evaluation period approaches.
