On-Campus Resources Available for Online Students

This resource guide provides online students with information about on-campus support.
Academic Resources

Parkside Academic Resource Center (PARC) - The PARC offers free academic support in the form of tutoring each semester. Walk-in writing assistance is available whenever the PARC is open. Simply swing down to Wyllie D180 if you are on campus to meet with a writing tutor. View the PARC hours here.

You also are able to use NetTutor which is an online tutoring service hosted through Canvas. NetTutor provides online, 24-hour tutoring for all currently enrolled UWP students. NetTutor will also review your papers for you and provide feedback. NetTutor is located along the left navigation bar of this course.

Personal Resources

If you're looking for more personal resources on campus, there are a few options available to you. On-campus resources include:

Student Health & Counseling Center - The Student Health & Counseling Center provides high quality care for emotional, physical, and mental health needs for all students. All students are eligible for the services provided by the SHCC. Not only are you able to make an in-person appointment, but there is also an online support resource called SilverCloud that you can log into if you need support. Please visit the website for a full list of services offered by the SHCC.

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) - OMSA is committed to the recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented students. Their mission is to connect, empower, and develop students for success through cultural programming, academic workshops and mentoring. Students, staff, and faculty develop an enriching and enlightening connection to one another, the university, and our surrounding communities. Visit them in Wyllie D182.

LGBTQ Resource Center - The mission of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside LGBTQ Resource Center is to provide a safe, inclusive, and comfortable environment on campus for LGBTQ and Allied students, faculty, staff, and community. The Center will accomplish this by providing advocacy and support services to meet the unique needs of the targeted populations. The Center will also provide resources and education, which will include curricular and co-curricular programming. The Center is located in Wyllie D171.

Veterans Services -  Veterans are encouraged to connect with the support team on campus in order to ensure they are getting all of the benefits possible for their service to our country. Please visit the resources page to find out about on-campus, local, state, and national support for veterans, and to download the benefits resource guide.

University Policies

Support for Students with Disabilities

It is the University's policy to provide, on a case-by-case basis, reasonable accommodations to students who have documented disabilities that may affect their ability to participate in course activities or to meet course requirements. Students in need of accommodations should visit the Disability Services website to learn more about requesting additional accommodations. Contact information for the Director of Disability Services is also available on the website. Please contact me directly in addition to contacting Disability Services so I can assure course content is universally accessible.

Academic Dishonesty

It is the policy of University of Wisconsin-Parkside to expect the highest standards of academic honesty. Cheating and plagiarism are not tolerated.  All work turned in by students must be the result of the student's own work. Students committing acts of academic dishonesty will be subject to various sanctions.  Please refer to UWP Misconduct Policy #28 for definitions of academic misconduct and possible sanctions.
