Navigate - Student: How to view suggested courses in Navigate
View suggested courses in Navigate
- After logging into Navigate, click Notifications
- Click the notification from your advisor
- Click the link to view suggested courses
- Select courses that you would like to add to the next term,
Click Add to Term,
Select appropriate term,
Then courses will be added to your plan

Pick a class from a Planned Placeholder (course group)
In some cases, you might have a Planned Placeholder (course group).
If you have a Planned Placeholder course group, complete the following steps:

In the right column, click the three horizontal dots to the right of the Planned Placeholder course group

Click View All Courses, a list of courses will appear in the middle column

In the middle column, check the box to the left of the desired course title

Click Add to Term, select term, the selected course will appear in the right column
Repeat this process for each Planned Placeholder course group.

Register for Classes using Navigate
After you have selected all of your courses, go to the right column, scroll down, then click View / Edit Schedule
OR Click the three horizontal dots to the right of the term, click View / Edit Schedule

Search for a specific course using the search option in Navigate

Click Course Catalog
-
Click Search for Course
-
Type a course number in the Keyword field (for example: PSYC101)

Scroll down to click Filter or hit enter on your keyboard

Select/check the box to the left of the course number and course title

Click Add to Term, select term, then continue with the registration process
Search for a course based on an attribute in Navigate (DV, HU, SS, NS)

Click Course Catalog
-
Click Search for Course
-
Scroll down to the Course Attribute field, select an attribute (For example: Ethnic Diversity, General Education HU, General Education SS, General Education NS)

Scroll down to click Filter

Select/check the box to the left of the course number and course title

Click Add to Term, select term, then continue with the registration process
Enter a PIN (permission number) in Navigate

Click Schedule Course (top Navigation Menu)
-
Click + Enter Section PIN(s)
-
Type PIN (permission number) for courses that require it.

Click Register Selected
DROP A COURSE in Navigate
-
After logging into Navigate, click Schedule Courses (top Navigation Menu)
-
In the right hand column, click the three horizontal dots to the right of the course that you wish to drop, then click Drop Course
-
A pop up box will appear, leave the PIN field blank
(a PIN is not required to drop a course)
Click the Drop Course button -
Your screen will say pending for about 60 seconds, then a transaction summary will appear on your screen
