SOLAR - How to Add a Class
This article contains instructions on how to add a class in SOLAR.
How to Add a Class
- Log into SOLAR.
- Click on the Manage Classes tile located on the Student Homepage.

From the left menu section, click on Class Search and Enroll.

- Select the term you would like to enroll in.

After selecting a term, you can switch between terms in the upper-left corner. If you only have 2 terms it will flip between the terms. If you have multiple terms with UWP you will get a popup menu to choose a term.

- Search for a class by typing in the Search for Classes field. Try using the subject or part of the title (example – BUS, ART, MBA or Fundamentals of English)

Use the filters on the left to find or narrow down the search results. The Search defaults to open Classes – remove the filter to view additional results.
- Click on the row to see the class meeting information (days/time).

- Click on the row for the section you would like to add.

- Click Next.

- This step allows students to select the waitlist option (if the class is full) or enter a permission # (if they have received one from the instructor). Click Accept.

If the enrollment period is open, you will be able to select to enroll in this class. If the enrollment period is not open, the class will be added to your shopping cart. Once enrollment opens, you can go directly to the shopping cart to add the class(es). (If the class is in your shopping cart you are not enrolled in classes).
After selecting Enroll, click Next.
- Click Yes to confirm your enrollment.

- You will receive a status message on your enrollment. Confirm the enrollment is successful or fix any errors (holds, pre-requisites)


- Select View My Classes/Schedule to review/verify your enrollment.

To Add a class from the Shopping Cart
- From the menu Select Shopping Cart.

Click the box next to class(es) you want to add and click Enroll.

If the Enroll button does not appear, it may not be time to enroll yet.
- Click Yes to confirm you enrollment.

You will receive a status message on your enrollment. Confirm the enrollment is successful or fix any errors (holds, pre-requisites).

Select View My Classes/Schedule to review/verify your enrollment.
