Classroom Doc Cam Controls
Many classrooms at UW-Parkside are equipped with document cameras. This page illustrates what the controls do on these doc cam devices.
Doc cams in can be used to broadcast over the classroom's projector and/or over a YuJa livestream. In order to switch to the doc cam, you will need to press the Doc Cam button on the touchscreen attached to the classroom's podium computer. The doc cam unit should be located right next to the podium computer. A majority of the classroom doc cams on campus will be the same model as shown in the illustrations below, but some classrooms have alternate models.
The touchscreen control system and the doc cam both need to be powered on in order to use the doc cam.
Camera Light On/Off | Turns the camera light on or off. The light is located in the underside of the adjustable camera arm. | |
Flip/Mirror Video | Flips the video/image. | |
Freeze/Unfreeze Image | Freezes the current frame on the screen once the button in pressed. Pressing the button a second time will switch back to the live doc cam video. |

Power On/Off | Turns the doc cam unit on and off. Powering the unit on or off will take a few seconds. | |
Increase Video Brightness | Brightens the doc cam video. | |
Decrease Video Brightness | Darkens the doc cam video. | |
Zoom In | Zooms the camera in closer to the object on-camera. | |
Zoom Out | Zooms the camera back out away from the object on-camera. | |
Auto Focus | Makes the doc cam refocus on the the object in its view. Tap this button to fix the video if the feed looks blurry. |
